We acknowledge that the land we occupy is nistawâyâw (Cree) / Ełídlį Kuę́ (Dene), within Treaty 8, the traditional territory of the Cree, Dene and Métis people.
In the work we do within our community, we challenge ongoing aspects of colonialism including homophobia, transphobia, heteronormativity, and cisnormativity.
We recognize and honour all the Indigenous people, especially Two Spirit people, who have stewarded this land from time immemorial, and who continue to resist oppressive colonial definitions of sexuality and gender to this day.

Wood Buffalo Pride's Rainbow Spaces program promotes and fosters safer and more inclusive spaces, organizations, businesses, and service providers for 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals in Wood Buffalo. Organizations, businesses, professionals, and community members that have taken specific steps outlined by the program receive Wood Buffalo Pride Rainbow Spaces designation. Our Rainbow Spaces receive public recognition for their commitment to 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion as part of our Rainbow Spaces Directory, as well as ongoing support and partnership with Wood Buffalo Pride.

Sign up to become a member of Wood Buffalo Pride. Wood Buffalo Pride members receive discounts on our events, are the first to hear about announcements and opportunities through our newsletter, and can make their voice heard in shaping our organization at the Annual General Meeting! Members are automatically added to our mailing list to receive our newsletter.
To ensure we are meeting the needs of our local 2SLGBTQIA+ community, we are creating Advisory Groups. The Advisory Groups will meet approximately twice per year and will help to shape our programming with their feedback.
These groups are open to those that self-identify as 2SLGBTQIA+, as well as their family members, parents, caregivers, or direct supports. An honorarium is provided for participation.
Volunteering with Wood Buffalo Pride is a great way to connect with the local 2SLGBTQIA+ community, show your support, and promote allyship. We have a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the year. Whether you are a member of the queer community or an ally, we encourage you to become one of our Proud volunteers!
