Municipal representatives have a significant impact on our daily lives, including organizational funding, community safety , and advocacy to other levels of government. To help keep voters informed and to ensure the priorities of our members are heard, we asked all candidates about their priorities.
You can read all of the responses below.
As a non-partisan organization we present all responses neutrally and do not rank or endorse any candidate. As a non-partisan organization we are required to offer the same level of support and engagement to all candidates, there were requests from some candidates to meet and discuss our issues/questions, due to the enormous slate of candidates we did not have capacity to take on that level of engagement. In the documents below, candidates are listed in alphabetical order, our posts on social media are made in the order that they were received.
We will note candidates who we have not received a response from, it is possible that our questions ended up in their junk email, or they may have chosen not to respond.
We are presenting the information as neutrally and accurately as we can to ensure voters have a fair representation of our interactions with candidates.
We are committed to working with whoever gets elected to advocate for the best interests of 2SLGBTQ+ people in Wood Buffalo.

Advocacy allows individuals and groups to have their voices heard in the public sphere. By advocating for a cause, individuals are able to spotlight their perspective to the wider community and act as a catalyst for change.
To make advocacy for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and allies easily accessible, Wood Buffalo Pride creates letter templates that can be used when contacting elected officials in specific matters. If you have questions or trouble accessing the templates, contact info@wbpride.ca.
